Records of spine adjustments date back as far as 5,000 B.C. Dr. Daniel David Palmer did the initial chiropractic adjustment in 1895. The condition that was treated was the restoration of hearing. The first Chiropractic University begun in Davenport, Iowa in 1897.
Training & Licensure in Asheville NC
A four year Baccalaureate degree is required along with Chiropractic college for licensure in the state of NC. Chiropractic College is equivalent to approximately a 5-year Post-Graduate degree. Chiropractic physicians have to complete a series of National Board Examinations and Certifications. Having passed the national boards, each state further requires the Doctor to pass a statewide licentiate examination. Once the Doctors of Chiropractic begins practice they must satisfy a minimum number of continual education hours each year. ( in the state of NC that is 24 hours each year)
